Project Overview

The Brief & Scope of Work

Our brief was to provide a safe, secure and practical scaffolding solution for the restoration of a historic converted turret in Bury. The scaffold needed to provide full access to all elevations for repointing and restoration works while overcoming several structural and access challenges.

A key requirement was maintaining vehicle access for residents throughout the project, as well as protecting a fragile roof structure by carefully distributing scaffold loads away from vulnerable areas.

Our Approach

How We Delivered The Project

Our team completed the scaffold erection over one week following a detailed site assessment and planning process. The scaffold was constructed around all four sides of the building, creating safe access for restoration specialists while minimising disruption to residents.

Using structural beam sections across both the front and rear entrances allowed unrestricted vehicle access beneath the scaffold. Additional beam work on the right-hand elevation ensured the scaffold avoided placing unnecessary weight onto the property’s fragile roof.

Design & Survey

We carried out a detailed site survey to design a scaffold that safely accommodated the historic turret, resident access and fragile roof areas.

Safe Setup

The scaffold was erected around all four sides using beam sections to maintain vehicle access and protect the fragile roof from unnecessary loading.

Phased Adaptation

As restoration works continue, the scaffold can be adapted to suit each stage of the project while maintaining safe access for contractors.

Clean Site

Our team worked efficiently, minimised disruption to residents and left the site clean, tidy and ready for restoration works to begin.
