JCM supplied domestic scaffolding in Bury for repointing and restoration to a historic converted turret. The independent scaffold served all four elevations, kept vehicle access open for residents and used structural beams to avoid placing unnecessary load on the fragile roof.

Project Overview
The homeowner needed safe access to every elevation for specialist repointing and restoration. The turret’s access constraints called for structural beams across the entrances, and the scaffold had to avoid loading the fragile roof while residents retained vehicle access.

Our Approach
Our team erected the scaffold around all four sides over one week. Structural beams across the front and rear entrances kept vehicles moving beneath the work platform, while additional beam sections on the right elevation protected the roof. For another domestic roof-access project, see our solar-panel scaffolding across Greater Manchester.
Our survey accounted for the turret’s shape, fragile roof and resident access before setting the beam-supported scaffold layout.
Beam sections maintained vehicle access at both entrances and helped distribute the scaffold load away from vulnerable roof areas.
As restoration work continues, the scaffold can be adapted to suit each stage while keeping resident access and roof protection in place.
We completed erection over the agreed one-week period, minimised disruption to residents and left the work area ready for restoration contractors.
